Poem for Black History

Celebrate the history,

Celebrate the sacrifices that were made for you and me

Celebrate the strength, determination and the will to never give up

Celebrate the culture, the lifestyle, celebrate us!

Celebrate every milestone, every obstacle to overcome

Celebrate us continually being beaten down but always reminding them, we will not succumb

Celebrate the beauty in all its forms are we

Celebrate who we are, Celebrate black history

Poem

The conquer of death, sending one last message in the flesh.

Giving instructions to his disciples but first making sure they were blessed.

Making them witnesses for what had come and what will be,

for he suffered and died to allow repentance and forgiveness to be given unto you and me.

He reminded them of what was written and how they were to tell his story

He clothed them with power from high, risen from death on the 3rd day, our savior ascended to glory

We are now given the same message to spread the word, about the good news of Jesus Christ.

To all the nations say Jesus died for you because he loved you from the beginning

And to those who confess and believe, forgiveness and salvation will be given

The King of Glory

Who is the creator of earth and everything in it? It is He.

Who is the one that the pure of heart and clean hands shall one day see? It is He.

Who goes before us to open doors and win battles? It is He.

Who is the giver of life and definition of love? It is He.

Who sends blessings and mercies into our lives? It is He.

Who came down from heaven to pay our price? It is He.

Who is He who did not let death be the end of His story.

It is He, the Lord our God, the King in all of His glory.

There will be obstacles, there will be challenges but we have to press on.

The journey is long, the journey is tough, we must press on.

We have blessings, we have God's promises that belong to us, but to receive them, press on we must.

There will be distractions, there will be times when we fall.

But the knowledge of our rewards needs to be our focus above all.

There will be times of light and times when things are dark, but we have to press on to the mark.

We may not physically see but we have to keep the faith.

For we know the path of righteousness is hard work but worth the wait.

In all that we do, our strength we must renew.

Leave the past where it is and step up to what we have to do.

We are God's children, he will help us along but we need to do our part.

We must press on.

Fruit Only Grows From A Nourished Branch

We are, branches of the tree of the vine of God almighty.

Without him we are nothing but with him, we and fruit we bare are a sight to see!

We need him just as a flower needs water and sunlight to grow.

We need him to go into places and intercede while being our answer when we don’t know.

He is our water and sunlight.

He is our nutrient of life and if we are unattached, disconnected, unplugged we cannot produce fruit off the vine.

We cannot be who we're supposed to be, reveal the greatness within or please our king.

Bearing fruit for the kingdom defines our being.

As we spread our roots and bare our fruit we must realize that without the Gardner tending to our needs we cannot bare what we expect to see.

Without the water and without the soil we are just small seeds, not able to fulfill our fruitful deeds.

Rooted, grounded, in him we must stay,

We can only achieve greatness that way.
